Children and Young Adult Events

Activities for children and families are an important part of the Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written WordSM. At the Festival, a Children's Stage operates throughout the weekend and features special events for children of all ages. Musicians, poets, songwriters and storytellers encourage children to read, share stories and sing songs.

Birthday parties are held each year for the anniversaries of major children's books. Parties are held for everyone from Peter Pan to Stellaluna.

Kids also have the opportunity to meet special characters such as The Cat in the Hat, Winnie the Pooh and Wild Thing and to have their pictures taken with them.
