Uncovering Women’s Stories: A Conversation with Beverly Bond & Janann Sherman

Two historians will share how they uncover the stories about remarkable women in Memphis history in an event at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on Friday, November 16.

“Uncovering Women’s Stories” will feature Beverly Bond and Janann Sherman. Bond is an associate professor of history at the University of Memphis and Sherman is a retired UofM professor. Both women are past honorees of Women of Achievement awards for vision. Women of Achievement is sponsoring the event to begin celebrations of the organization’s 35th year giving awards to women.

A 6 p.m. reception will be followed by a 6:30 to 7:30 conversation at the library at 3030 Poplar Avenue. Historian Dr. Gail Murray, retired from Rhodes College, will host the conversation and audience questions.

Humanities TN is pleased to support this event with an Opportunity Grant.
