National Trail of Tears Association: 27th Annual Conference

Humanities Tennessee’s Shared Futures Lab (SFL) is pleased to announce our partnership with the National Trail of Tears Association (ToTA) and Tennessee Chapter to offer scholarships to attend the National Trail of Tears annual conference in Chattanooga, October 14-16, 2024.

In its 27th year, the conference is an opportunity to connect tribal leadership with local communities, and includes site visits, speakers, evening events, pre/post conference activities, and a keynote by Dennis Jay Hannah. Each scholarship provides for up to 20 Tennesseans: 

• conference registration 

• an annual membership in the ToTA-TN Chapter

Scholarships are available to: 

• TN residents whose work—paid or volunteer—requires educating the public about the Trail of Tears and associated tribes 

• first-time attendees and new members have priority
