Tennessee 101: Reconstruction to the Late 20th c.
September 14 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm CDT
Join the TN Historical Society for a virtual series featuring speakers specializing in different topics from post Civil War through the last century. Registration will be available at: https://tennesseehistory.org/home/programs/
When the 1920s ended with the advent of the Great Depression, much of rural Tennessee had been in a recession since the industrialization that followed the Civil War. This session will examine New Deal programs that directly benefited Tennesseans, how Tennesseans mobilized for World War II, and Tennessean’s direct role in the creation of the atomic bomb.
The project is supported in part through Humanities TN’s General Grant Program.
